Hey there Reader,
I've been reflecting on how I can better support my clients and help them achieve the results they deserve in the kitchen. This led me to a question:
Am I being too nice?
Hear me out...
I believe in offering empathy, active listening, and validation to my clients. They deserve it, of course, but more importantly:
- It's part of my personality and professional approach.
- We are already hard enough on ourselves.
- Diet culture has misled us into thinking we need to constantly chase the next big fad to be enough. (Spoiler alert: You are enough. 🤍 You don’t need to follow a restrictive diet to be healthy. In fact, what you need is quite the opposite)
However, let's be honest. Sometimes, we all need a little push—a nudge that comes from a place of understanding, support, and encouragement.
So, consider this your official kick in the 🍑.
Stop scrolling on your phone. Stop procrastinating, and take that step towards a healthier you. Just do it!
Put on some music, clean up your space, and start prepping a few items for the week or weekend ahead. It will make a world of difference and kickstart the momentum you need for bigger changes down the road.
Last weekend, I did just that. I was having a lazy day, lounging on the couch at 7pm, feeling like the rest of the evening would go to waste. While it would've been totally okay to lay there and relax, I knew that doing so would negatively impact my sleep. I also knew that doing a bit of cleaning would help me feel better mentally and start the week on a better foot. So, I played some "pump up" tunes (Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You"—obviously!), vacuumed two of my house floors, and organized our mechanical room.
...What a difference it made!
Sometimes, you just have to overcome that initial fatigue, laziness, or mental block. You have to stop thinking and start doing!
So, what will it be for you this week, Reader? Hit reply and let me know what you plan to accomplish. Oh, and what "pump up" song will help you get it done?
Until next time,
